According to the national standard for electric shock prevention, the voltage of underwater lights cannot exceed 12V. Therefore, the voltage of general underwater lights is 12V, which is lower than the human safety voltage of 36V; while the mains voltage in our lives is 220V, and underwater lights cannot be directly connected to the mains. First, the underwater lights will burn out, and second, it is unsafe. Once leakage occurs, it is easy to cause electric shock to the human body. Therefore, when using underwater lights, it is necessary to install a waterproof transformer for voltage conversion.
It is worth noting that during use, there are strict requirements for the power, voltage, stability, and waterproof level of waterproof transformers; EEIO Transformer aluminum shell waterproof transformer, built-in all-copper wire toroidal transformer, sufficient power; thermal conductive epoxy resin fully encapsulated, aluminum shell super heat dissipation, built-in temperature + short circuit + overload + overcurrent quadruple protection, stable performance, waterproof level up to IP67, and has a good reputation in the market for more than 10 years.
In addition, customers should also pay attention to the following points when using waterproof transformers:
(1) Generally speaking, the utilization rate of waterproof transformers is 75%, which is more appropriate, that is, a 100W waterproof transformer drives an underwater light of no more than 75W.
(2) Since the wires themselves have resistance, they will share part of the voltage, resulting in the voltage of the remote underwater light being less than 12V. Therefore, the underwater light should not be too far away from the transformer output line; if the distance is too far, the number of waterproof transformers can be appropriately increased.
(3) Waterproof the connection between the power supply and the waterproof transformer, and between the waterproof transformer and the underwater light.
When using underwater lights, personal safety should be the first factor. Underwater light manufacturers must select high-quality waterproof transformers in accordance with national standards. Do not purchase waterproof transformers of poor quality in order to reduce costs. Although this reduces procurement costs, it increases safety risks.
