What are the differences between outdoor special transformers and ordinary toroidal transformers?

The toroidal transformers we often use outdoors can be divided into rainproof transformers and waterproof transformers. There are differences between these two transformers and they can be used according to different application environments. So, what are the components of these two outdoor transformers? 1. Rainproof transformer: It consists of a toroidal transformer + protective shell, with a protection level of up to IP44, and has functions such as insect prevention and splash prevention. Rainproof transformers can be divided into two types according to the protective shell: vertical rainproof transformers are generally used in general rainproof occasions such as landscape lights, floodlights and guardrail pipes; wall-mounted rainproof transformers are installed on the wall and are generally used in building lighting.

2. Waterproof transformer: It can be divided into aluminum shell waterproof transformers, iron shell waterproof transformers, and plastic shell waterproof transformers according to the shell. They have different names and different components. The aluminum shell waterproof transformer consists of an aluminum shell + toroidal transformer; the iron shell waterproof transformer consists of an iron shell + toroidal transformer; the plastic shell waterproof transformer consists of a waterproof epoxy resin shell + toroidal transformer. They are waterproof up to IP67, and are fully filled with thermally conductive epoxy resin. They can be submerged 30 meters deep in water and can cope with harsh environments such as high temperature, humidity, rain, and water immersion. They are widely used in underwater lights, underground lights, fountain lights, ship equipment and other occasions.
