Temperature Rise Knowledge of Power Transformer

The temperature rise of power transformers has two types: the hottest point temperature rise and the average temperature rise. However, the average temperature rise of the coil is generally used as the temperature rise index of the power transformer. Temperature rise is an important factor affecting the life of the transformer. The allowable temperature rise of the transformer is determined by its insulation heat resistance grade.

The temperature rise of oil-immersed transformers: 55 degrees for the upper oil, 65 degrees for the winding, and 80 degrees for the oil tank and structural parts.

The temperature rise of dry-type transformers: windings, A-class insulation 60 degrees, B-class insulation 80 degrees, C-class insulation 150 degrees, E-class insulation 75 degrees, F-class insulation 100 degrees, H-pole insulation 125 degrees.

EEIO toroidal transformer is a type of dry-type power transformer, which is wound with pure copper wire. The average temperature rise of the coil is relatively low, which is lower than the winding speed of its peers. The winding is smooth, reducing the hidden danger of internal short circuit.
